Revealed in Makkah, Surah Al-Qadr (The Power) honors the Night of Decree (Laylat-ul-Qadr), the blessed night in which the Quran was first sent down. It describes this night as better than a thousand months, during which the angels and the Spirit (Gabriel) descend with every divine decree, filling the earth with absolute peace and blessings until the break of dawn.
