Revealed in Makkah, Surah Al-'Alaq (The Clot) is historically significant as containing the first five verses ever revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) in the Cave of Hira, commanding him to read in the name of his Lord who created humans from a clinging clot. It highlights the importance of knowledge, writing with the pen, and warns the arrogant enemies of faith who attempt to prevent the believers from praying.
