Revealed in Makkah to define the essence of Islamic monotheism (Tawhid), Surah Al-Ikhlas (The Sincerity) is celebrated as equivalent to one-third of the Quran. It outlines the absolute purity of the Creator's nature in four verses: declaring that God is One, the Self-Sufficient Master needed by all, who neither begets nor is begotten, and to whom there is absolutely no equivalent.
