Revealed in the late Makkan period, Surah Ghafir (The Forgiver), also known as Al-Mu'min, is the first of the seven consecutive chapters beginning with the letters 'Ha-Mim.' It focuses on the clash between faith and tyranny, highlighting the story of a secret believer in the palace of Pharaoh who courageously spoke out to defend Moses. The chapter emphasizes that those who reject the truth out of pride will find no helpers, while the angels carrying the Throne of God continuously pray for the forgiveness of those who believe and repent. It urges humanity to reflect on the rise and fall of past empires, demonstrating that absolute power belongs solely to the Forgiver of sin.
