Revealed in Madinah, Surah Al-Ahzab (The Combined Forces) details the immense trials and victory of the Battle of the Trench, where a confederacy of pagan and Jewish tribes besieged Madinah. The chapter provides a critical analysis of the community's psychological state, contrasting the unwavering faith of the true believers with the cowardice and excuses of the hypocrites. It establishes key social regulations regarding marriage, adoption, and the high status of the Prophet's wives as the Mothers of the Believers. Ultimately, it commands absolute respect for the Prophet, introduces the requirement of modesty through the outer garment (Jilbab), and reminds humanity of the heavy trust (Amanah) they accepted when the heavens and earth refused it.
